The fan component is a separate unit that attaches to the smartphone case. The fan unit rotates about a pivot joint making its position adjustable. The fan unit can either fold flat against the smartphone case for storage, or be placed at a variety of angles/positions for optimum use of the fan. The fan unit has
rotary spinning blades powered by a motor which when activated provides a cooling draft for the user. The power source for the motor is the Smartphone battery. The fan unit connects to the Smartphone outlet port via USB cable and receives power in this manner. The proposed optimum angle/position of the fan relative to the smartphone for handheld use is 180 degrees. The proposed optimum angle/position of the fan relative to the smartphone for tabletop use is 135 degrees. However, the fan is fully adjustable through a range of angles and the user may select the angle they deem most appropriate. The invention casing may be formed of polyurethane, polycarbonate, silicone, metal or any other variations known in the art. The invention may have its own battery/power source, not requiring the smartphone battery. The cooling fan may be a permanent part of the smartphone case, not being detachable. Connection between smartphone case and fan unit may be achieved by a magnetic strip, a sliding catch, a clip, or any other variations known in the art. The invention may be splash resistant to water and other fluids. The invention may be impact resistant. The manufacturing method may make use of injection moulding, rotational moulding, compression molding, die casting, laser cutting, 3D printing, or any other variations known in the art. The invention may have a rounded shape, square shape, freeform shape, or any other variations known in the art. The fan unit may be app controlled. The fan unit may be used at a 135 degree angle to the smartphone, a 180 degree angle, or any other variations known in the art. The fan unit may be placed at an angle of 135 degrees for tabletop use, or any other variations known in the art. The smartphone case dimensions may be 6.4 x 0.5 x 3.2 inches, or any other variations known in the art. The fan unit dimensions may be 3.2 x 3.2 x 0.5 inches, or any other variations known in the art. The smartphone case and fan unit may be compatible with the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, or any other variation known in the art. The fan type may be an axial fan, propeller fan, radial fan, mixed flow fan, or any other variations known in the art. The fan blades may be forward inclined blades, backward inclined blades, straight radial blades, or any other variations known in the art. The fan unit may attach at the base of the smartphone case, the rear of the smartphone case, the side of the smartphone case, or any other variations known in the art.
